Roman Polanski Getting Away with Child Molestation

Traveling today, I picked up a Fresno Bee. An interesting paper, from the town of my youth. Early youth that is, my parents having moved us to San Jose when I became a teenager. On the front page, I noticed a tag about Roman Polanski. I cannot believe how slow justice moves when it comes to protecting children, or is this case really about how the rich and thus powerful in this country can pretty much do what they want. The euthanization of Michael Jackson not withstanding. Really though I feel bad for Michael, all that talent and money, and the opportunity to really make a difference in the area of child molestation/trauma, if he had sought help, instead of helping himself. In addition to being a great talent; he could have been my hero as well. These laurels are now worn by the real life Monsignor O'brien, and the Meryl Streep character in the film "Doubt".
So, the tag on the front page of the Bee, "Polanski Lawyers Unite", not very descriptive but it did do it's job and encourage me to read on. I turns out that Lawyers for Polanski and his victim (interesting word choice) "joined forces" according to the Bee, whatever that means.
I quickly glanced at page A12 or A14 of today's Fresno Bee, and read a story, which was pretty much a repeat of the tag. I did notice that it was an AP (ugh) article from the Los Angeles Times. Having mobile broadband, I went directly to today's online version of the LA Times, where I got the whole story. Makes me wonder what else I missed reading the Fresno Bee from the ages of 5 to 13?
So, Roman Polanski raped and underage woman (translated = molested a child) and now he wants to not have to face the music. The Los Angeles County DA has other ideas. Thank God for the Los Angeles District Attorney's office. They are now joining Monsignior O'Brien and Meryl Streep as my personal heroes. Polanski didn't direct "Doubt" did he?
