During this time when the flags and other treasonous relics from the Confederate States of America are being removed. Let us take a moment to reflect on an unsung hero of the civil war and a leading contributor to the Untied States of America winning the battle of Gettysburg. The contribution of then Colonel George Armstrong Custer at Gettysburg had been purged from the about 1/3 of the accounts I have seen of that battle which was a turning point in the war. One of the reason Lee lost the battle is that he did not have good intelligence. He had always relied on Jeb Stuarts Calvary for this. But Stuart remained out of touch with General Lee until after Pickets charge. The way it looks is that Lee's runners were getting to Stuart but that Stuarts messages were being captured by the United States, therefore Lee assumed his orders were being carried out. Prior to the beginning of the battle Lee did not even know that Stuart was closer to little round top than to Culp's hill. Lee's plan was to take Culp's hill, and after having secured it Jeb Stuarts Calvary was supposed to ride round the hill and come in behind the lines of the United States. Two things happened. Against tremendous odds being horribly out numbered the United States Arm held Culps Hill, of course Lee did not know this. The fight for Culp's hills was some of he most vicious of the battle. the Confederate States of America absolutely had to have control of that Hill in order to dominate the battle field, but the United States held on. Lee did not know this because Stuarts reports were never getting through to him. When Stuart finally showed up to come round Culp's hill and sneak in behind the United States Army What he found was A- The Confederate States of America did not have control of the hill so he was going to be fired on as he rounded the hill and coming up behind the United States Army would p[probably have been thwarted with his Calvary taking heavy losses. On the other hand Stuarts Calvary was so large that he might have made it except he and his Calvary had to travel in single file stretching it for miles with the back never really known what was going on in the front, And B here comes Colonel Custer with his Calvary completely outnumbered 4 to 1 but nobody new it Ceausescu that could not see the entirety of Stuarts force. Custer's Calvary attacked so viciously that rumor got to the end of Stuarts Calvary that they had met with a superior force of the United states. Colonel George Armstrong Custer thus became one of the great heroes of Gettysburg and the Civil war. By the time Stuart got back to Lee Picket
s charge had al;ready started and there was no Calvary to join in with pickets frontal attack which by this time had been reinforced by General Mead. Picket's unit was slaughtered and Lee was handed his first defeat. It was also the last time Lee ventured into the North.

Colonel George Armstrong Custer one of the great Civil War heroes, but his story is almost never told anymore having been purged by his defeat later at little big horn. Not acknowledgment Custer's heroism is a travesty and a strong argument against revisionist history.
Remember Custer for his contribution to the United states of America and the battle of Gettysburg not for Little Big Horn,
