At War With Islam, Still and Again

I think the Pope said it best this is World War III.

Looks like they've repaired the Pentagon. Jihadists turned a civilian airliner full of innocent people into a kamikaze like bomb and dropped one on the Pentagon. The United States of America has not fully responded either under Bush or Obama. Our national sovereignty and our image around the world as a nation state has suffered and has not been restored by the actions of these two weak men.

As evidence of our inaction to fully restore our national sovereignty we now have ISIS.  What scares you more? Posting a cartoon depicting Hilary, Trump, the Pope, President Obama in a negative way or posting a cartoon of Mohammad in a negative light. We are supposed to have freedom of speech in the USA. Its expression is our right. Fear of this freedom compromises our national sovereignty.   Our sovereignty needs to be restored.

Islamic terror grows steadily as do their conversions. These are the very actions one would expect to manifest from Jihad.

In the sense of the sovereignty of nation states and it's precise political meaning, we are and must remain monolithic. One cannot confuse or mix the policies of domestic society with those of foreign affairs. In other words, we have a certain set of values norms within our domestic society, we hold these dear we have deep emotional attachments to these values. The above is a part of what Rousseau defined as the general will in "The Social Contract."

The job of our leaders is to implement and protect this general will from foreign influences and especially foreign violence so we as a nation can be who we are-- this is freedom and sovereignty. Monolith or "Leviathan" as Hobbs wrote we must establish and maintain our national sovereignty or we will cease to exist as a nation i.e. will will not be able to maintain or domestic way of life. "We are the world" is a nice song and the ideal expressed is laudable, but it is not an accurate depiction of reality in the era and in a world of sovereign nation states. To the rest of the world, in order to maintain our domestic way of life -- our general will -- we must be monolithic a Leviathan and so must France, and Israel, and Russia.

We must allow these countries to maintain their national sovereignty. As long as the boundary of sovereignty is maintained we are sovereign -- we can protect our way of life domestically. At the foreign policy or word level we cannot allow any entity to cross that boundary and remain sovereign. The ideal of one world etc. etc. is wonderful, however, we are still in the epoch of nation states, and have been since Hobbs wrote "Leviathan."

Fundamentalism is fundamentalism whether it be Christian or Islamic. The differences: Christian fundamentalists ignore or misinterpret the teachings of Christ if favor of imposing old testament Mosaic law worldwide, because a handful of leaders think that this is right, moral and best for the world.

Islam is a fundamentalist cult -- not a religion. The Islamic cult seeks ultimately to impose Sharai law worldwide because:

  1. they believe that is best for the world
  2. their holy book tells them so.

Their holy book also tells them to purify the earth by giving infidels an opportunity to convert, if they refuse, kill them; until their are only Muslims left throughout the world. This is Islamic theology. It is  what their holy book instructs them to do.

Thus to the Muslim it is right and irrevocable to kill infidels (non-believers, innocent people). For the above reasons Muslims have no moral obligation to spare innocent civilians.

In fact the theology of Jihad is about killing civilians.

Since the kamikaze sneak attack on 9/11, the United States of America through two administrations now, has still not reestablished our national sovereignty.

Our response to the theology of Jihad that promotes and supports the use of civilian airliners, innocent people as kamikazes under George W. Bush was to attack a country that was not involved save for harboring these radical Islamist.

The Policy of the succeeding administration lead by President Obama was to not have an end game -- a plan to establish justice and stability in Iraq.

The hunting down and killing the leader behind the attacks of 9/11, Osama bin Laden,  while impressive was not a strong enough response for the acts of war committed against the USA.  Killing bin Laden did not reestablish our status as a sovereign nation.

In this era of nation states, national sovereignty must reign (sic). The Jihadists know that they can do anything they want to the Untied States and we will not retaliate with sufficient force to stop them. Islam continues to attack us as well as France and Russia et.al.

Not one of these nation states has replied with sufficient force, even though all have the capability to do so, to reestablish their sovereignty, protect their people and their way of life.

Instead the leaders of these countries including our own administrations because of their  ignorance of history, the history of power, and weakness have had its people change their  way of life and accept Jiahd.

Our current President, in the name of religious tolerance, has had us change our way of life to accept terror and Jihad as the new world order. Tolerance without justice is the vision of the Obama administration. Sadly this weakness will be the will be the salient aspect of the Obama legacy. Nothing else he has done will stand out more than his inability to stop or even slow Jihad. He will pass this issue on to the next administration and through his weakness, the next administration will have to deal with the annihilation of Jihad with fewer options.

The vision of the Obama administration -- tolerance before justice -- is a natural response to the decades, since the Reagan administration, during which justice was meted out without tolerance. There is perhaps a fine but very definite line between tolerance and justice. In the USA we have lost this boundary as well as our status as a sovereign nation -- we are still, since 9/11, hostages of Islam, and subjugated by Jihad. We will remain so until we elect leadership that knows where to draw the line between justice and tolerance in such away that protects our

  1. National Sovereignty
  2. Way of life
  3. and Our People

Since the jihadist terror in Paris this Friday November 13, 2015 more than fourteen years after 9/11 in the USA, we have heard brave words from the President of France, but so far no action.

The effective response of a sovereign nation at war is swift and sure. In the wake of Pearl Harbor, within days of the sneak attack FDR, called for and approved bombing raids on Tokyo. Launching bombers from an aircraft carrier in the 1940s was not an easy thing to do. But strong leadership knew that justice and national sovereignty required a swift and sure response.

The Dolittle raid, as they have become known, of April 18, 1942 was the first U.S. air raid to strike the Japanese home islands during WWII. The mission is notable in that it was the only operation in which U.S. Army Air Forces bombers were launched from an aircraft carrier into combat. The raid demonstrated how vulnerable the Japanese home islands were to air attack just 4 months after their surprise attack on Pearl Harbor. While the damage inflicted was slight, the raid significantly boosted American morale while setting in motion a chain of Japanese military events that were disastrous for their long-term war effort. http://www.uss-hornet.org/history/wwii/doolittle.shtml

To end WWII, President Truman did what was necessary to reestablish the sovereignty of the United States of America, protect our way of life, our citizens, and our veterans.

For Truman, the choice whether or not to use the atomic bomb was the most difficult decision of his life.
First, an Allied demand for an immediate unconditional surrender was made to the leadership in Japan. Although the demand stated that refusal would result in total destruction, no mention of any new weapons of mass destruction was made. The Japanese military command rejected the request for unconditional surrender, but there were indications that a conditional surrender was possible.

Regardless, on August 6, 1945, a plane called the ENOLA GAY dropped an atomic bomb on the city of HIROSHIMA. Instantly, 70,000 Japanese citizens were vaporized. In the months and years that followed, an additional 100,000 perished from burns and radiation sickness.

Two days later, the Soviet Union declared war on Japan.

On August 9, a second atomic bomb was dropped on NAGASAKI, where 80,000 Japanese people perished.
On August 14, 1945, the Japanese surrendered. http://www.ushistory.org/us/51g.asp

The results of Truman's decsion have been overwhelmingly positive for both countries.

Using nuclear weapons in Japan is our only precedent for the use of the ultimate power at our disposal. The message: we reestablished our status as a sovereign nation state, by demonstrating to Japan and the world that we will use all the destructive force at our disposal to protect our sovereignty.  We regained our status as a sovereign nation, we refused to be held hostage by a fanatical religious cult that worshiped an emperor. We told the world, you cannot just have your way with the United States of America, and not suffer sever consequences. We gave it our all.

The question remains, will we regain our status as a sovereign nation or will we continue to be hostages to Islam and their theology of Jihad.

Do we have the will to elect people like FDR and Truman?

The duty to elect the right people in 2016 is the duty of the American people. It is our choice to either remain subjugated to people who will do anything including turn civilian airliners into bombs and sneak attack our military headquarters, or will we elect people who are willing to do what is necessary to regain our status as a sovereign nation.
